How to Join TKE

Anyone is welcome to come over and check out TKE. We are constantly searching for new guys with potential to become a part of our Fraternity. Just come to any of our rush events. We host them to give you a chance to learn about us, get to know the brothers, and also so that we can get to know you.

As you come around, and we learn about your character, we will determine whether or not we think you have what it takes to become a TKE. We usually start giving out bids a couple weeks into the semester, and the new member process starts about 6 weeks in. We are a 100% NON-HAZING Fraternity. However, we do have a new member education process that lasts a semester before you can officially call yourself a brother. During this process we introduce you to the Greek community. You're invited to events and socials, and we have weekly meetings where we teach you about our history and Greek life in general.

If you don't end up getting a bid or you decide not to pledge TKE, you are still welcome to come around and hangout with us at anytime or try rushing again in the spring.

There is a minimum 2.5 GPA requirement placed by the school. If you cannot meet this requirement by the end of the fall semester we cannot formally initiate you into our Fraternity. However, we will do whatever we can to help you meet this requirement. We have study hours in the library, education programs, access to tutors, etc. In TKE, we work together to help each other reach our highest potential.

We do not select guys based on wealth, rank, or honor. But we choose our brothers based on personal worth and character.

Together, we participate in many philanthropies, intramural sports, community and service events, and competitions. In addition, we have a lot of social events with sororities and friends. So we are looking for men of character that can contribute to our success, and guys that we can help mold into great leaders of tomorrow.

So if you're hardworking and also like to have fun, you'll fit in perfectly. We are a brotherhood. Once you are in, you're in for life, and you will have a support system of over 257,000 men standing behind you at all times.

The Iota-Pi Chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon at Kent State University was installed as a chapter on May 25, 1963.

Since 1899, Tau Kappa Epsilon has never had an exclusionary clause for membership. TKE does not judge men on their wealth, rank or honor, but instead on their personal worth and character.

Our mission is to "to aid men in their mental, moral, and social development for life." In essence, we build Better Men for a Better World.
